Fewer councillors and new names for wards at South Hams

A Devon council will make its decisions with nine fewer elected members and have some of its wards renamed, it has been announced.The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published its final recommendations for new electoral arrangements for South Hams District Council.

THREE council wards in Torbay could benefit from a Government helping hand towards creating new jobs.Blatchcombe, Shiphay with The Willows and Tormohun are being considered for Assisted Area status from next spring. The Government is in the final rounds of consultation on the status nationwide.
