Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) EventsBoth the CCGs that cover our area, NEW Devon and South Devon and Torbay, are developing a county wide sustainability and transformation plan. This is a national initiative to contribute to the implementation of the Five Year Forward View and the delivery of place based services. The aim of the plan is to identify the improvements we need to make and how they can be best delivered across Devon.

Flooding in Totnes

Flooding in TotnesThe Environment Agency have announced a new initiative to reduce the risk of flooding in Totnes. Since the original flood defences were built in the 1980s there have been at least two separate occasions where some properties in Totnes have come close to flooding.For anyone concerned or affected by flooding there is going to be a public drop-in session in Totnes High Street at the Civic Hall on Saturday 16th April between 11:00am and 19:00pm

It's time for a bold and brave strategy on childhood obesity

Local MP, Dr Sarah Wolalston, has recently written an article for Politicshome on childhood obesity.A third of children are now moving on to secondary education obese or overweight. Independent data also highlights the stark and widening health inequality associated with obesity. A quarter of children from the most disadvantaged families are leaving primary school obese, more than twice the rate for children from the most advantaged families.
